On September 23, 2024, the "Design for New China - Celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China Series Special Exhibition" opened at the China International Design Museum of the China Academy of Art. This exhibition has been selected for the "2024 National Art Museum Collection Exhibition Season" organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, as well as the "Walking with the Times and Joining Hands with the People" cultural and artistic tour organized by the Propaganda Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee.

The exhibition gathers precious collections from more than 40 institutions across the country, showcasing over 500 pieces/groups of physical objects and historical documents, covering various fields such as architecture, industrial design, handicrafts, clothing, and visual design. It presents numerous "firsts" designs since the birth of New China, such as "The First National Gift of New China", the first set of national gift porcelain "Founding Porcelain", "The First Spring Festival and New Year Painting Movement of New China", "The First Foreign Trade Exhibition of New China", "The First National Pavilion of New China", and so on. Rare models of the national emblem design process, drawings and communication letters of the Monument to the People's Heroes (including Liang Sicheng's letter to Peng Zhenxin and Lin Huiyin's letter to Liang Sicheng), planning drawings of West Lake in Hangzhou, and design drawings of the Great Hall of the People in Zhejiang Province have also reappeared after decades of dust.
