Lin Fanglu is an accomplished artist with a strong background in fine arts.She completed her aster's and Bachelor's degrees at the Central Academyof Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing, China in 2016 and 2012, respectively.Throughout her education, she had the opportunity to work under renownecprofessors and participate in exchange programs at prestigious institutionssuch as Karlsruhe University of Art and Design in Germany and TokyoUniversity of the Arts in Japan.
Her artistic journey led her to explore the traditions and folkways of Chineseethnic minorities, particularly the disappearing techniques of tie-dyeingfrom the Bai women community in Yunnan and Dong traditional hand-woven cloth-bright cloth in Guizhou. Lin Fanglu's numerous visits to thesecommunities resulted in the creation of textiles artworks series, which havebeen exhibited at prominent venues including the Art Museum of the CentraAcademy of Fine Art and the Beijing Exhibition Center.
Her exceptional talent and innovative work have been recognized througlvarious awards. In 2021, she was awarded the Grand Prize at the LOEWEFOUNDATION Craft Prize, a prestigious international competition. In 2016she received the titles ofNew Designer of the Year and Innovative Brand ofthe Year at the China Building Decoration Association Awards.
